On Target for Orkney: Vent’s Anthony Griffiths To Represent Guernsey at the Island Games

Vent is delighted to support our air hygiene technician, Anthony Griffiths, as he represents Guernsey in archery at the 2025 Island Games in Orkney, taking place next month.

Anthony was first introduced to the sport during family holidays and through the Scouts. Inspired by his father, who also took part in archery, he began training seriously four years ago. What started as a casual interest quickly developed into a true passion. His dedication and hard work have paid off, earning him a place on Guernsey’s 16-person archery squad for this year’s Games.

The Guernsey team will compete in both recurve and compound events, representing the island across men’s and women’s categories. The competition involves shooting distances of up to 90 metres, demanding incredible precision and focus. Despite Guernsey’s small size and limited access to high-level coaching, the island continues to produce talented archers who hold their own on the international stage.

Guernsey archers are part of the Hampshire Archery Association and take part in the UK County Championships twice a year. The Island Games, however, present a unique and exciting opportunity to compete against a diverse field of athletes from small islands around the world.

Anthony and his teammates will travel to Orkney by minibus, where they’ll compete over four action-packed days. It’s a journey he’s eagerly anticipating—made possible in part thanks to Vent’s sponsorship and support.

We’re proud to stand behind Anthony as he heads to Orkney—we’ll be cheering him on every step of the way!

Go Team Guernsey! 🇬🇬 🏹
